I have several years of experience in Property Management of Commercial Class A buildings; which included a maintenance aspect. So, I was familiar with the LED wave and the cost benefits and aesthetic quality these lights can add to a building. In my new role with Upper Merion Township as the Interim Maintenance Supervisor, I was tasked to lead the sustainability program and save the Township money. As I was eager and very willing to do this, but I was also very nervous and a bit anxious. You see, I have done several build-outs, white boxed suites, and assisted with Tenant improvements, but I did not have the first clue of where to start with saving money. Upon speaking with another vendor I was introduced to Craig Miller with Miller Lighting and a light bulb (no pun intended) went off. Initially, I laughed and did not take the company seriously. I mean, “ Miller Light-ing” is pretty comical when you think about it. No? Well, once I met Craig all my anxiety and worries simply were a figment of my imagination! He was very knowledgeable, patient, and explained every detail (even some I may not have thought about). The team was always helpful and again patient with me. The Township couldn’t be happier with the first few phases of the LED Conversion Lighting project and I couldn’t be more satisfied with Miller Lighting. We have seen a reduction in the amount of electric used and have been able to reduce our energy bill. Additionally, we’ve also received incentives for doing the work. Win-win!
